NYC Teenspace is a free online mental health support program for teens ages 13 to 17 living in New York City.

If you struggle with mental health challenges or just want somebody to talk to about your everyday ups and downs, Teenspace can help.

Teenspace is offered by the NYC Health Department and provided by Talkspace.

How It Works

When you sign up, you can get:

  • Connected to a licensed therapist for ongoing virtual support
  • Access to mental health exercises to complete at your own pace

You can message your therapist by text, voice, or video at any time. You can also schedule one live video session each month.

All NYC Teenspace services are free.

How to Sign Up

  1. Visit Talkspace.com/NYC.
  2. Enter your address and birthdate.
  3. Enter your parent or guardian’s information and email address so they can provide consent.
  4. Complete a simple online assessment to share your mental health needs and preferences.

Caring Transitions is a new program to help youth age 5 through 17 in the Bronx and Queens who are seen in a hospital following a suicide attempt or suicidal behavior.

A multidisciplinary team will work with the youth and their family on skill development to provide ongoing support and treatment.

This team includes:

  • Social workers
  • Youth and family peers advocates
  • Psychiatrists

The youth and their family will be contacted within 24 hours of hospitalization and receive ongoing support through their hospital stay and up to three months after they are discharged.

Caring Transitions will be available at NYC Health + Hospitals:

  • Elmhurst Hospital
  • Lincoln Hospital
  • Jacobi Hospital
  • North Central Bronx Hospital
