The Department of Buildings (DOB) issues a Stop Work Order when it finds a violation of the Administrative Code or Zoning Resolution of the City of New York. No work may occur at the site until DOB issues an order to rescind.

The Stop Work Order contains instructions on how to schedule a site reinspection and request an order to rescind the Stop Work Order.

Check the Stop Work Order Map to see if a site was recently issued a a Stop Work Order or had one rescinded.

You can report work being done while a stop work order is in effect.
